cheesebox and sox

Today, several of us (for we are legion) went to the conference on all things maritime and made a mighty fine showing. My colleagues Tom and Lester gave brilliant presentations this morning (chaired by my all-time favourite glass curator, Gary) and a whole covey of us gave a presentation on the little cheesebox that folks really seemed to like.

Then we went to a reception for my old boss Bill (who is one of the most wonderful people on the planet and so is his wife) and then watched the Hokies win (yay Randall!!!!) in football.

Ain't a lot to say right now, but I wanted to let the world know that my colleague and friend Karen gave a killer presentation that had folks talking afterwards. She thinks that she's not a public speaker, but she's so very wrong on that count. She was brilliant and funny and had people taking copious notes - and everyone will tell her this tomorrow, so hopefully she will believe it and feel really really good about it.

So anyway - the conference has been really good (yay Mary and Joe!) and it's just another really good reminder of why I love what I do.

And to all the Sox fans out there - a hearty huzzah - they're not my team, but hey....they deserved it and I jumped around the room in celebration.

Must sleep now....more conference tomorrow....
