I've spent the last two days moving a forest.

At least that's what it feels like.

Monday morning found us all at Ye Olde boat Museum clearing trees and debris from around the building. The power's out which means that the humidity levels are rising in the museum - which spells bad news for the art and artifacts. We're hoping to have power back on soon - but situated as we are back in the woods, when that will be is anybody's guess. So we're closed indefinitely.

Monday afternoon I went to Williamsburg to help the in-laws with their woes. For those who are interested, here's the house:

This is of course after the trees were taken out of it late Sunday night. It appears now that they are going to have to move out entirely for several months while the entire roof is removed and a new one built.

Here's Jim among the ruins...

Anyway - I should probably get a move on - I think I'm driving out to New Kent today to see if I can help Bill and Kim any. Kim is 8 months pregnant and can't pick up so much as a twig. Maybe I can do the twig picking for her.
