Desperation Booze
23 December 2002
3:32 p.m.

I have spent the last several hours standing in lines and sitting in traffic.

Ho. Ho. Ho.

But it seems as though everything has been purchased (except for the obligatory holiday booze that one always buys at the last moment when all other options have been exhausted and it's the only place without a line the length of Texas. Speaking of booze - you really need to read Dublingirl's entry from today!).

The Parental Units have successfully navigated their way from Winston-Salem and are now happily ensconced in their favourite hotel in Williamsburg. We'll have dinner with them tonight, and then some quality time with them and Jim's family over the next couple of days. Hopefully it will be a fun, festive, and largely uneventful Christmas with no Ron Popeil items in evidence under the tree - even if they do have planetary action.

I have to go excavate the house now. For whatever reason, I cannot seem to keep the house clean all at once.

Who am I kidding - I can't even keep it clean one room at a time. I think I missed class that day, or something.
