Ahhh.....the beginning of 5 days off in a row.......

Today was a whirlwind of meetings, coaching sessions and gift-bestowing sice most of us are taking the next few days off.

I had to be an integral part of the all staff dog and pony show this morning with a PowerPoint romp through 2002 at Ye Olde Boat Museum. It was received very well - especially since most folks could only remember an all staff meeting from a couple of years ago when folks got laid off. This one was very different and fun, and Mr. Hightower was such a good sport playing the straight man to my slides. He had no clue what was on the screen behind him (kind of like "Who's Line Is It Anyway")so the reactions were most amusing.

That was followed by a champagne and cheese luncheon for the Senior Staff (sometime's it's good working for a museum with an endowment...). We traded gifts - mostly bottles of wine - but I got the prize of them all! A Hello Kitty clock for my office. Karen was my secret Santa and had obviously done her homework. Hightower gave me a bottle of wine from his legendary wine cellar and then we hung out for an hour eating cheese and having some pretty darn tasty bubbly. Gary Jobson sent us some macaroons from the New York Yacht Club which were to die for. I have squirreled one away for later.

The rest of the day was spent in a coaching session and working on a grant proposal to upgrade our website. There were only a few of us left by 5.

Well - that's not very exciting, but there it is. We're about to go to a get together in Williamsburg for the fort staff at Jamestown Settlement. Should be fun!
