I just spent the evening with Tony Trischka. He played a solo show at the Museum, and we got to spend quality time with him by taking him out to dinner before (Mexican) and out for donuts after (but they were closed).

If you haven't seen him before then you are missing out on a fundamental human need - the need to hear banjo music. We deny it, we try to fight it, but in the end we simply have to accept the fact that everyone needs a little clawhammering and frailing in their lives.

We got both tonight. For 2 1/2 hours. From a banjo god.

It was the end to a very difficult, very looong week.

But it was a very good ending.
